When You Should See a Doctor

A consultation is recommended if you notice increased hair loss, changes in hair density or quality, or scalp concerns. The earlier the possible causes are identified, the easier it is to develop an appropriate treatment program.
  • Increased hair shedding
    You notice significantly more hair than usual after washing, brushing, or sleeping.
  • Thinning and reduced hair density
    The hair becomes less dense, the parting appears wider, or more of the scalp becomes visible.
  • Changes in the hairline
    Thinning develops around the forehead, temples, or crown.
  • Weak and brittle hair
    The hair becomes thinner, has difficulty retaining length, breaks easily, and loses volume.
  • Scalp concerns
    You experience itching, flaking, excessive oiliness, sensitivity, redness, or discomfort.
  • After a hair transplant
    You need to continue treatment, support your existing hair, or assess your current progress following surgery.
Dr. Anna sees patients with various forms of hair loss and thinning. Similar-looking changes can have different causes, so treatment is selected after a consultation and assessment of the hair and scalp.

Supportive Treatment After Hair Transplantation

After a hair transplant, it is important to monitor not only the transplanted area but also the existing hair, which may continue to thin over time.

Dr. Anna sees patients for supportive treatment starting approximately 1.5 months after a hair transplant.

You can consult Dr. Anna if:
  • your hair transplant was performed at another clinic or in another country;
  • your previous clinic no longer provides follow-up care;
  • you did not receive a clear long-term treatment plan;
  • your existing hair continues to fall out;
  • you need an assessment of your current condition and continued supportive treatment.
Dr. Anna will review any available medical records and previous prescriptions, assess the current condition of your hair, and develop a further monitoring and treatment plan.
You do not need to return to the clinic where your hair transplant was performed in order to continue treatment.

How the Right Treatment Program Is Determined

The purpose of diagnosis is not simply to perform tests, but to select an appropriate treatment strategy rather than giving every patient the same set of procedures.
Consultation
The doctor will ask when the hair loss started, how your hair density has changed, which treatments or procedures you have already tried, whether you have any chronic medical conditions or significant stress factors, and whether you have undergone a hair transplant.
Hair and scalp examination
The pattern of thinning, hairline, scalp condition, and individual problem areas are assessed.
Trichoscopy and laboratory tests when indicated
If necessary, digital trichoscopy is performed using the professional Aramo SG video dermatoscope. The doctor may also recommend laboratory testing if there is a need to investigate possible deficiencies, hormonal factors, or other underlying medical causes.
Personalized treatment plan
Based on the consultation findings, an individual program is developed. It may include medical treatment, topical products, home care, in-clinic procedures, and a follow-up schedule.

Comprehensive Hair Consultation

All stages of the consultation are personally performed by Dr. Anna.
The initial consultation includes:
  • discussion of your concerns;
  • review of your medical history;
  • assessment of previous treatments and procedures;
  • examination of the hair and scalp;
  • assessment after hair transplantation, if applicable;
  • digital trichoscopy using Aramo SG;
  • review of any available laboratory test results;
  • recommendations for additional examinations when required;
  • selection of medical and procedural treatment;
  • recommendations for topical products and home care;
  • determination of the appropriate follow-up interval.
Patients are advised to bring the results of previous tests, a list of current medications, prescriptions from previous clinics, and any documents related to hair transplantation.

A separate written treatment plan is not provided after the consultation. Dr. Anna discusses the treatment program and prescriptions directly with the patient during the appointment.

What Tests May Be Required

If you have already undergone medical testing, please bring the results to your consultation. Dr. Anna will review them together with your symptoms, medical history, and examination findings.
The following tests may commonly be used to assess your general health:
  • complete blood count (CBC);
  • blood chemistry tests.
The need for any additional testing is determined individually. The same extensive panel of tests is not automatically prescribed to every patient.
Laboratory results are assessed in the context of the patient's overall condition and clinical presentation rather than interpreted in isolation.

What May Be Included in the Treatment Program

Treatment is selected individually. Not every patient requires all of the methods listed below, and the combination of treatments depends on the cause of hair loss, the condition of the hair, and medical indications.
The doctor may prescribe or adjust medications based on the suspected cause of hair loss and the results of the examination.
Consultation
The program may include pharmacy solutions, sprays, serums, medicated shampoos, and recommendations for hair and scalp care.
Consultation
An injectable procedure using the patient's own plasma. It may be used to support existing hair and as part of a post-transplant treatment program.
Consultation
Injection of an individually selected formulation containing active ingredients into the scalp. It may be used on its own or in combination with PRP therapy.
Consultation
An autologous procedure that may be considered for certain types of hair thinning following a medical consultation.
Consultation
A non-invasive method designed to support hair growth that may be included as part of a comprehensive treatment program.
Consultation
A device-based procedure combining microneedling with radiofrequency energy applied to the scalp.

Individual Approach for Men and Women
For Men
Dr. Anna works with thinning around the forehead, temples, and crown, ongoing loss of existing hair, and patients who have previously undergone hair transplantation.

Particular attention is given to maintaining the patient's existing hair around the transplanted area and continuing treatment that may have been started at another clinic.
For Women
You can consult Dr. Anna for diffuse hair loss, widening of the part, reduced hair density, or hair loss following pregnancy, illness, stress, or changes in your general health.
The treatment program is developed based on your medical history, symptoms, and possible underlying factors.

Monitoring Treatment Progress

Hair loss treatment takes time, so results cannot be properly assessed immediately after the first procedure.
The first follow-up examination is usually scheduled approximately 2 months later.

During the follow-up consultation, Dr. Anna assesses:

  • whether the intensity of hair shedding has changed;
  • changes in visible hair density;
  • changes in scalp condition;
  • how the patient is responding to the prescribed treatment;
  • whether the program should be continued or adjusted;
  • whether additional procedures are required.
Photographs and repeat trichoscopy may be used for comparison.
An initial assessment of treatment progress is performed after approximately two months. The overall timeframe and outcome depend on the cause of hair loss and the patient's individual response to treatment.
